Here's a quick synopsis:
The Cleveland Browns dominated professional football from 1946-1949 in the long defunct All-America Football Conference (AAFC) amassing a record of 47-4-3 and winning the league championship all four years. The dominance continued as soon as they entered the NFL, with the Browns winning championships in 1950, 1954, 1955 and in 1964. But since then, it's mostly been misery. How is it that Cleveland's fortunes changed so dramatically?
Author (and fellow engineer) Dave Eifert weaves a fictional tale around familiar football action to explain the inexplicable: how a once mighty team has managed to remain so bad for so long. Readers will encounter Red Right 88, The Drive, The Fumble, and plenty of other real football, all faithfully reported. All the while the "man in the cashmere coat" is operating behind the scenes to foil the Browns and frustrate their fans.
